~Tarnished Junk Bag, Tartersauce & Free Stuff ??~

I made one little stop this afternoon and look at this old Tarnished Silver Jewel encrusted bag I came home with.... I snapped this thing up fast like it was worth some $$$...actually it may be. I have to do a little research on it. It is OMG cute!! All the little jewels are intact and it has just the right amount of tarnish to the metal. If anyone knows anything about it's history let me know!!

Isn't she adorable??

Cute little metal latch on top and handle...
The inside smells old, it is tagged Bergdorf Goodman Italy, which I think is a dept store, on the other side it says Rodo?? I know this little thing has some history. Of course it will be on the market For Sale at The Sleepy Poet as soon as I get some history of it's value.
Well.... See this picture below??? I was out junking a few weeks back, yapping on the cell phone with my junk friend Beth when I passed this and what I thought was a sign that said Free Stuff.... I told her to hold on while I spun my car around to go back...I got all excited.....well when I got there I could have just died, turned in the drive and the sign said "Hay For Sale"! Now look at all that stuff you can see why I got all excited!! There might have even been a tomato or two for sale there also!!
I was just embarrased for myself... am I that bad that I am imagining free junk??? Free Stuff and Hay For Sale do no remotely have ANYTHING in common nor do they sound alike!!!! Not like my husband who argued the Taco Bell lady down at the drive thru that he did not need Tartersauce... See our Taco Bell is also Long John Silvers, so he was screaming out the window into the speaker that he did not get fish, he did not need tartersauce....I had to step up to the plate and tell him she was not saying tartersauce she was asking him if he wanted Hard or Soft?? (Tacos that is) see Hard or Soft, Tartersauce, kinda sound alike!!!! I will get a pic of him on my next post so you all can put a face together with the Tartersauce!!
Ok, now that I have embarrassed myself I am going to bed for the night!! Tootles, I knew I could not stay away from a mid week post!! Be careful at those Fast Food drive thru windows!!
Blessings & Hugs, Janna

Well, you made me laugh soooo hard! It was funny that you were looking for free stuff and got hay for sale:) Funnier is your husband yelling about the tarter sauce and it was hard or soft:) I am still laughing! Thanks and good night!

Loving the tartersauce story..... my husband and I made the exact same mistake a couple months ago... the lady asked "hard or soft"
and we said "what",
"hard or soft"
"tartersauce??",
"NO, HARD or SOFT"

Why can't they just say crunchy or soft?

Hilarious! Glad you have the guts to tell the funnies on yourself. So, today I went to Walgreens and when I got home I realized MY PANTS WERE UNZIPPED. oh well...

At least the Taco Bell person didn't tell you and your husband to ask for the discount next time. What discount I asked. The senior citizens discount he said. I nearly died. So rude.

Girl, I'm glad I read this tonight instead of in the morning...I'm afraid there would have been coffee spit all over everything! This is just too dadgum funny. Like I say, some things you just can't make up.
I totally see how you could get "free stuff" out of "hay for sale" especially when you were temporarily blinded by all that sweet junk gleaming in the sunlight!

I just had to come back and tell you that I googled Rodo and yep girlie girl, you got yourself a treasure! To get a little back history on the designer go to www.wishshoes.com/Rodo.html then just go to Ebay and start looking. I am on pins and needles to see what you find out. I love a good treasure hunt!

Mrning coffee giggles...courtesy of Janna! Thanks lady!! Tartersauce...hard or soft...Yup i can hear where the confusion came from. Besides those fast food speakers always sound like "waawakawakkwa" to me anyway. I avoid them like the plague 'cept the burger place my best friend works! BG was a huge department store, up NOOArth...way before WallyWorld came into big box being. The purse is too cute, and very unique, i'd say. As far as HAY...FREE goes? same as seeing what you perceive to be a cool old chair on top of a "curbside shop"...slamming on the brakes, doin a U-ey, cornering on 2 wheels...only to find that the chair is an odd pile of rotted wood, aunties faded pink walmart curtains and a stuffed animal won at the fair years ago that smells like the dog for some reason. Not that this has ever happened to me...:o} *elaine*

That story is too funny and it does kinda sound like tarter sauce. What a strange combination- Taco Bell and Long John Silvers! You sure do find some great stuff on your junkin- wish I could be so lucky

I tried doing some research on your find, and all I could find was that Bergdorf Goodman Italy is a designer name. Wish I could find more.

Loved the tartarsauce story - my husband always has trouble understanding at those fast food places, too. Of course the Free Stuff sign was wishful thinkin'. Look at all that great junk! Sue

Great story...thanks for the giggle. I know the embarrassment...I hate it when I leave my garage door open and people start coming up the driveway thinking there must be a sale! I have done the same thing but the free stuff would be a marage around here

Hi Janna.. Sweet bag!! I could be wrong, but I think that "Rodo" was a high end line of purses from the 1950's by Italian designer Rodualdo Dori.. Not sure how long they were in production.. Anyway.. NICE SCORE!
