~Yard Sale & Estate Sale Saturday!!!~

I had to do it..... a great Yard Sale & Estate Sale I could not pass by!!...Once the chippy crusty rusty junk disease is in you, you just can't stop it!! Here are a few of my favorites things that I could not pass by today. This Old Violin, minus the cords is my favorite thing of the day, I about peed my pants I loved it that much!! I don't know if it is a keeper or if it will go for sale?? Update.... I did put it in my booth at the Sleepy Poet, $34.95. I can at least drool over it there until it sells..... *Violin SOLD*

Estate Sale jewelry perfect for making pendants. A crochet dollie and the cutest glass framed prints!! All for under $5!! *Framed Prints, SOLD*

I came across the old Milk Glass Lamps at the same estate sale this morning. I love the Old Vintage dingy shades, the are so grungy and perfect!!

And here is all the rest of the loot I came home with this morning...some of it will be some makeover projects. The rest I will leave as found. I loved the big old crackeld Ironstone bowl!! I know the Mail box... What was I thinking. Well it is chippy rusty white, I actually got a green one (not a fav color) along with it, I have an idea...But $1 for booth, I had to get em!! The last stop of the morning was to check on one of my booths and of course I ended up buying my friend Beths little while old Cabinet, I couldn't resist it, I am always on the lookout for a display piece for my booths, this will work perfect!

Have a great rest of the weekend, make sure to see my previous post on shabby chippy items going to the Sleepy Poet, Blessings, Janna

~A Few New Goodies ready for The Sleepy Poet~

Thanks to all of my customers at The Sleepy Poet this week for shopping my booth!! I have had numerous email request for pics of what I will be adding this weekend. I have a few pics of the goodies I will be adding below, so if you are local make sure you stop in and check it all out! There will be alot more of good junk finds than just what is posted, so I'll see ya there, I have been up since 5:00 this morning (still have to work that full time day job M-F) so this is all I could gather for the night, gotta get to bed for some needed sleep before I head out on my junk hunt tomorrow!!!

Old Chippy Turquoise and Tan chair, I totally forgot I had this pushed back in the corner, it still has its original caster wheels in perfect working order!
Here is another table makeover I just finished. I know this beauty sat in my garage for a year or so just gathering dust. Every piece has its place in due time. It was a solid turquoise pastel from it's previous owner. All it needed was a good roughing up, a coat or two of stain... nice and distressed ready to go!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend... Get out there and find some good Junk!! Blessings, Janna

~Two Post Worthy Day, somthing for ME!~

I just had to do a second post today. ...It always seems with having booths here and there I never have time to find anything for my own home... Well today I did!! I took a few things up to my booth this morning at the Sleepy Poet . As I was unloading another vendor was doing the same, she was actually selling this piece to another vendor, I just ran over like a drooling crazy woman and interupted the two of them with, What is that and where is is going, I want it!!! She was so nice and told me to go ahead and get it, that she really did not need it, I was thrilled beyond belief!! Finally somthing for my house. I have a problem when I run short of items for my booth I take from my house to fill the hole there, Gotta be careful doing that, you come up missing things you really love!!

I just love it... I don't know what else to say. It's metal and its chippy cream... My husband said it is the ugliest thing he has ever seen.. He wanted to know, "What ya gonna do with that?" After being in a house all weekend l-o-n-g from the rain, I just could not go there and answer THAT question!! Right in the dining room it went, it is paired up next to a big old wide planked Farm Table.

Had to add some little extras to cute it up ...

I had to dig through the garage and rummage around the house to find it all.... I remembered the Antique Carved Mirror and Lamp ($12.50 for the two) at one of my local Goodwill stores, just sitting out in the garage waiting for their place... The little egg picture my friend Beth made over at Olde Tyme Marketplace , click on the link and it will take you right to her blog, make sure to tell her Janna sent you over. Well this should be the last post for the week... unless I stumble across somthing too amazing that I just can't wait. Make sure to check out my previous post I did this morning on some of my junk Makeovers!! Back to the real job tomorrow, Everyone have a great week! Blessings, Janna

~Some LATE Night Can't Sleep Makeovers~

Well whatta you do when you can't sleep?? I paint. I had brought this old little farm table home from my booth the other day, it had not sold so I decided to paint the top white to match it's chippy white legs. It had an ugly brown top, you can see pics of it in my previous blog photos of my booth at The Sleepy Poet. I think it turned out way better, can't wait to get it back in my booth today. The chippy white wicker basket and chippy shelf was one of this weeks thrifty finds, kinda matches the whole set up. If you see anything you just can't do with out, email me, it is all FOR SALE... *Green Box, SOLD*
Once again, I do a makeover and forget to take the before picture.... Just imagine Ugly Brown Box/tray. I got it from my friend Rachel, it was so cheap it was almost free!! Now add a coat of lime green paint, a little distressing and a coat of stain. As soon as my Hubby woke this morning it was sitting there waiting for him to do the handles, and Wa-La a perfect little distressted chippy piece for the booth, I LOVE it, I wish I could come across a million of these suckers..believe me I will be looking.
These are some of the weeks Thrifty finds, a little glass and silver always fit in nicely.
I love to do little Collage Prints, when I find the extra time... I have lost track of what that is these days!! I love to make them into greetings cards to sell in my booths, or make little framed treasures. I scan and save them to my photos file so I can print multiples for cards if needed!! I will be sharing more of them in future posts.

Thanks for stopping by, we are having a rainy Memorial Day here in the South, sounds like I may be able to catch me a nap today!!! Blessings, Janna

~Can you Believe ALL of this for Under $25!!~

Well I kid you not, I went out this morning to hunt a few thrifty things but... budgeted myself for $25, that was it ....I came back with a car load!! I had to include this table makeover in with the pics because it was a freebie... I traded my girlfriend somthing from my booth for it, trading always works for me. She had painted this old brown table a cream color, I just imagined it beat up a little and distressed with a different knob besides the wood one, old iron worked perfectly. I love the way it turned out, I will be taking this over to my booth at The Sleepy Poet this coming Sunday, so if you are local be sure to stop in and see all my new treasures I will be adding!!! If you see anything of interest send me an email, it is all FOR SALE. *Table, Sold*

Just perfect chippy shabby!

I just sold the old wicker chair in my booth this week and look what I found this morning, another old wicker chair, it just needed a little cleaning, I love it, it is big, heavy and old! She is misisng her cushion, gotta find just the right one..cushion makes the chair!!

I came across this old box of glass bottles, I was down to my last $6 bucks, I pulled out all of the old mason jars, old milk bottles and a few more unusual ones. I told the lady well I have six dollars left, she grabbed the $5 and said that was good enough for her..I was soooo excited all I have to do now is clean them up!

I LOVE old tarnished Silver and Cream Ironstone, could not go wrong here for $3.50!!! Can you believe it?? After close inspection of the old tarnished Urn looking thing there in the middle... my husband thinks this may have held someones ashes at some point in time!!!! OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, now what have I done went and bought???!!!??? Well it was a Church yard sale!!!

The tall lamps will be perfect repainted Chippy Cream!!

All for under $25, what a day!! Thanks for stopping by, Have a great Weekend! Janna

~Finally a Friday off & look what all I Found!~

~New items being added this week to The Sleepy Poet and The Curious Cat, stop by and check it out!!!~ I finally got me a Friday off, with my new work schedule it is getting harder and harder to get out and junk...So this was my last who ha for a while. I will be on wonderful mandatory over time at my office beginning Monday, ugh, I know!! But what a pretty good Friday off it was, I was in the search for smalls this time around but who could pass by that green chippy chair?? Certainly not I. I actually purchased the second one but not until I was on my way home. Yep, had to call back and get them to hold it for me...I do that all the time, always, always get the matching one, I know the rules but I forget or am I trying to be Ms Cheapie!

Now this box, Oh how I love the!!! It is going to need a little tweeking, but it was worth every penny. This one may be a keeper, look at the little green chippy knobs! It is made of a old Borden Cheese boxes. I have never seen another like him!

The four Rusty Horseshoes were laying right in the seat of the old chair just waiting for me... no searchin there. I hit the chippy rusty metal jackpot with this trip.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my loot, if you see anything you just can't live without always remember, it is all FOR SALE, if you are local most all of this will be available at my booth at The Sleepy Poet and The Curious Cat Market. Have a Great weekend! Blessings, Janna

~I gave in, I couldn't help Myself!!~

I hate to admit my faults but I gave in... just a little....I just had to get a few things today on a few stops after work, it has been several weeks with no new junk treats for me and it was an awful day at work!! A little shopping can make us girls feel much better. I fell in love with the rusty three tier basket, it stands about 3 1/2 feet in height, a great display piece to put a ton of junk into! I sure wish the picture showed the detail in the chippy white paint planters, they are adorable.

And there is another chippy green scale, I can't get enough of them....

This bowl I LOVE to pieces... It is a big honker of a bowl and it had ONE crack when I purchased it, it is older than Methusula, It was pouring rain when I left the Market that day. Bowl, Umberella and Purse in hand, I unlocked the passenger door, tried to get it layed down in the front seat ever so gently, the umberella was hitting the roof of the car and kept me from getting everything in, so I closed it and the darn thing fell right in on the bowl and I kid you not it broke right in half. The stinking umberella barely touched the bowl. As you can tell I superglued it back , and I love it just the same!!

I loved the Vintage look and design of these little metal tins, had to have these!!

Well this should be (better be) all of my purchases for this week!! Don't forget to scroll down to the next post to see the updated booth pics I posted yesterday, Have a great week, Blessings, Janna

~Workin a little in the Booth Today~

Well it's Sunday and that is about the only free day I have to mess around in my booth after working long days during the week on my day job, so I headed on over to the Poet this morning to do just that. Here a few of my booth re-arrange pics and some of the market too. Sales seem to be picking up a little, with the economy we never know what it holds from one day to the next. I have finally taken my husbands advice, but I will never tell him, to sell what I have in the markets and packed in the garage. Boy, Junkin can drain a girls bank account right on down, I am in conservation overdrive now!! Not even one piece of junk have I purchased in 3 weeks!!! Oh no.... I think I am in withdrawel, I feel a junkin hay day coming soon!!!

I can not believe I still have these two chippy two drawer chests, I would have thought they would have been gone by now...but that's ok, those are two things I will gladly work right into my bedroom, I can vision them now!!
Just a few of my odd and ends.

Well , I FINALLY sold the very rustic farm table from the center of my booth, now it is time to brighten and whiten it up a little for Summer.

Chippy Blue, I Love it!!!

A great mix of many different styles, definitely somthing for everyone, this little booth is one of my favorite stops.

Anybody for some windows, old mantles or chippy shutters, this booth has them for sure....

Thanks to all for stopping in. Again, I wish all the Mom's a Happy Mothers Day!! Have a great week, Blessings, Janna
